Another Great Transfer!

Today was yet another wonderful Transfer. Lots of fun, lots of excitement, lots of Spirit and lots of tears. Our new missionaries are a very outstanding group of sisters (2) and elders (9). The day seemed to go off without a hitch, and I think the office elders even had a pretty good night's sleep.

Elder Fontenot made our lunch again. That man is amazing! He really knows how to cook for crowds, and that's exactly what we had--maybe 130 or so. Today's menu was chicken and sausage gumbo and it was a hit!
Elder Crook stays in BR and Elder Howald leaves for New Iberia

Elder Jensen with his new companion, Elder Joubert servincg in Baton Rouge Spanish East
Elder Glauser, who's leaving Baton Rouge for Kenner, with his new companion, Elder Cooley
I'm not sure what the hat thing is, but I hope it's not new missionary attire! This is Elder Benson, Elder Southward and Elder Browning

Returning Elder Smith with his new companion, Elder Mecham. I'm so sad to have Elder M leaving the area. He's been such a great Assistant and fun friend. But he'll be such an outstanding companion for Elder Smith. They're on their way to Natchitoches which is a LONG way from here:(  I'm thinking Elder L & I will be planning a road trip.
Elder Lyons, trainer, and Elder Caldwell, just arrived from the Mexico City MTC, will be serving in Lafayette.
Elder Staley, another new arrival, and his trainer, Elder Bracken, will be serving in St. Amant.

These 5 wanted me to take this picture. Yes, I did ask them if they were bringing segregation back to the South. I'm glad they laughed. Left to right: Elder Smiley, Elder Murhula (born in the Democratic Republic of Congo), Elder Jean Louis (born in Haiti), Elder Navitikula (Fiji) and Elder Myers.
Sister McClendon currently serving in Houma and Sister Lyons whose being released tomorrow and going home to Canada
Dining with the President are Elder Cunningham (just arrived from Mexico City MTC), his trainer, Elder Whitmarsh, Elder Passey, Elder Karn and President Hansen
After transfers we had several missionaries drop by the office for a variety of things. These are just a few of them.
Elder Wise and Elder Ware
Elder Myers and Elder Watkins, Denham Springs Zone Leaders, raiding the office!

New companions, Sister Black and Sister Miskho, are Sister Training Leaders in the New Orleans Zone.
So sad! Sister Fiso, our Temple Square sister who was in Plaquemine for 1 week, was transferred to Chalmette. But she'll be serving with Super Sister Boehme. I think they're going to have a great time.

Elder Caina and Elder Stevenson, elders going to Marksville
Elder Soper and Elder Smiley, the LSU elders, and Elder Fowler and Elder Jacildo, Zachary

Elder Adkins and new companion, Elder Bennett. Another sad good-bye  was to Elder Trainor, who was transferred to Mandeville. Fortunately, Elder Bennett is very capable and seems like a very good fit for this sometimes crazy office!
